Happy Mother's Day!

And it was a very Happy Mother's Day to me!  Kris woke me up with a cup of coffee and some sweet music playing while he went downstairs to make a big breakfast (my favorite!).  Once I made my way downstairs, I was greeted by a slideshow of pictures of some favorite Mommy Memories that he created along with a big hug and kiss from my special little girl:)

We got all dolled up and headed to church then out to the Strawberry patch at Wegmeyer Farms!  This was surely Kayden's favorite part of the day! The weather was beautiful and it made our little lunchtime picnic just perfect.  Here are some shots from the day:

Perfect ending to a perfect day:)

Kayden's Room Transformation

Kayden's Room Transformation

It took Kris and I (mainly Kris's grunt work, and my head-overseer pointy-finger work) about a week and a half to move Kayden into her big girl room and make way for girly #2.

We were really excited to find all of our furniture at On a Whim antiques in Lucketts and sell my old college furniture on Craigslist!  Here's how it all went down:

Painted the closet grey, removed shelf, raised it up higher, added the lower shelf, painted trim and doors white and added oil rubbed bronze hardware.

Painted whole room bubble gum pink and the breadboard trim white along with the ceiling. Hung Kayden's name sign about 28 times before Kris got it straight:)
Headboard from On A Whim: $165 - bedding from Home Goods

Side Table: on a Whim $50 and blanket chest $125

Book Shelf: On a whim: $65

Dresser: $125 (right!!)  and mirror $90  - this wall will later become a collage full of Kayden's artwork and our crafty projects together:)

The little lady has been sleeping like a princess each night - she's totally loving her Big Girl Room!

Easter 2012

Our Easter 2012 was another wonderful celebration!  Kayden constantly reminds us about our faith and the Easter story. In fact, it's one of her favorite bedtime stories:)  Cornerstone's Sunday School passed out a wonderful age-appropriate version that she just adores!

Here are a couple of shots of our day of celebration:

Scoping out the loot!

 Asking about chocolate for breakfast:)

The bunny brought her a new bunny!
